I've been there before and I know exactly how it feels. I've been at the point where I didn't even know where the next money to buy internet subscription will come from. It was that bad.
Let me tell you a brief story about myself,
I once had a very profitable food business (at that time) and after 7 years of operation and over 2000 customers served, I had to shut it down.
Why shut down when it was profitable you might ask? It was because I made some bad decisions. Decisions that led me into debt with the bank and my business partner at that time.
In 2019, I had to look inwards for transferrable skills that I gained whilst doing business and that led me into social media management where I got my first gig earning $5/hr.
I also discovered that I could manage and assist business owners since I was once a business owner too, and this led me to hone my skills in Virtual Assistance. After 6 months of learning, I got my first VA gig which paid me $10/hr. Remote work tasted very good and I never looked back ever since.
Fast forward to 2021, I got the opportunity to be a Social Media Manager for a company in the US by using the skills I have learned over the years.
Guess how much the pay was, $2,000. Small girl like me living in Lagos, working remotely from her mother's bedroom. Keyword: REMOTELY.
Today, I currently work as a Virtual Assistant, Social Media Manager and Product Manager. All from the comfort of my home.
